Every once in a while, a session comes along that reminds me exactly why I love what I do. This one started out as a simple request:

A pregnancy announcement and family photos.

Beautiful, meaningful, and already special on its own.

But then… the plot twist.

A few days before the session, Dad reached out to me privately with a message that basically said, “Sooo… I’m going to propose. Can we make this happen?”

And of course, my answer was an immediate, enthusiastic yes.

From that moment on, this wasn’t just a family shoot — it was a covert mission.

We planned a three‑hour session, and every minute was worth it. The little girls got to run, play, explore, and just be themselves. I built the entire shoot list around their attention spans (my teacher brain kicked in instantly). We incorporated breaks, snacks, shade, and plenty of silliness so nobody got overwhelmed or overheated. The whole session felt relaxed, comfortable, and full of laughter.

And then came the moment.

Dad got into position. Mom thought we were setting up for a sweet family pose. My husband — who was filming the session — quietly shifted into videographer ninja mode. And when Dad dropped to one knee, time just… stopped.

There wasn’t a dry eye anywhere.

Not mine.

Not my husband’s.

Not the kids’.

Definitely not Mom’s.

It was one of those rare, sacred moments where love fills the entire space and you feel lucky just to witness it.

Capturing their pregnancy announcement, their family portraits, and their engagement all in one session felt like such an honor. And the best part? They enjoyed the experience so much that they booked their newborn session with me before we even wrapped up.

This family gave me a day full of joy, surprise, and genuine connection — the kind of session that stays with you long after the camera is packed away.
